Are you ready for the Dartmouth Regatta? Will you be visiting the area to watch or will you be taking part?
This annual event, held at the end of August over the Bank Holiday weekend, provides family entertainment, regatta racing and some fantastic firework displays. It was also one of the best locations to watch the Red Arrows perform their aerobatic display. This year it will be just a flyby by the Red Arrows but the Royal Air Force Typhoon will be performing a flying display over the River Dart on the 27th August.
You’l find plenty to do. There are sports events, music, fun events, lots for the kids to do and of course, the Regatta Ball!
For those that are taking part in the waterborne events it’s a busy time. You’ll find the owners and crew busy in Dartmouth cleaning their boats and . Throughout the week there are rowing and yacht racing events so the boats have to always be kept ship-shape!
It’s very competitive with very close racing, it’s not always a clean sweep!
You can drive to Dartmouth from Paignton or Brixham to Kingswear and take the car ferry across the river. Parking is limited so it ise better to use the park and ride and use the passenger ferry. Or you could take the steam train instead!
Whatever you decide you’ll have a great time!
